Microsoft has introduced a major update of Product Listings in its Bing Shopping Tab. This feature will allow advertisers and retailers to showcase their range of products, and that too without any cost. So it is a free product listing to be exact! They officially stated that they are excited to announce the launch of free product listings on the Bing Shopping Tab in the USA, and soon this feature will also be available in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany.

A similar initiative was taken by Google a few months back – they allowed free listing in the Google Shopping Tab – and Microsoft followed the suit. They took time to study the impact of this feature and decided to replicate the act to provide a similar edge to their users and store owners.

It must be noted that product listings are currently available only for those who have a Microsoft Merchant Center Store with approved offers.

Think it this way, by opting for a free product listing, you’re tapping into a huge audience and it will allow you to generate additional profits off of this feature.

Well no rocket science here, if you already have the Microsoft Merchant Center Store, no particular action is required from your end. You automatically opt for a free product listing; your all products in Microsoft Merchant Center will come into this offering.  You are only required to submit detailed product feeds as a data source for these organic listings. And one can simply opt-out of this feature from the settings page if they are not interested to have this feature.

And it’s not an issue if you’re not selling on Bing yet. Just start out with setting up your Microsoft advertising account and merchant center, and once your store is approved, you can start submitting your product feed.
